The Gala Day

Crowning Ceremony

The Crowning Ceremony is held in Tranent Loch Centre on the first Sunday in June.

 

This year will be our 82nd Gala and will be held on Sunday 2nd June 2024.

 

More information will be announced as we approach the day.

Walk to The War Memorial

Following the Crowning Ceremony the Gala Committee will walk down to the War Memorial with the Gala Court.  The Queen will lay her bouquet and they will all walk back to the Loch Centre.


For Safety: Please do not cross through the procession, we do not want anyone to get hurt.

Gala Field

The Ross High Rugby Field hosts our Gala Day and boast an array of entertainment for all the family.

 

We have new rides including Waltzers, and a big Ferris Wheel too.

We have 6 white knuckle rides at £2.50 each.

The Ferris Wheel is £3, the Dodgems and Jumpolines are £5

 

We have entertainment in the field with Highland Dancers. On Our Saltire Stage we have new addition Senior Movements show that age has no limits. As well as musician Carly Smith performing. Centre Stage will be giving us a taste of their Summer Show which will be on in the Loch Centre during our Civic Week.(Check our Civic Week listings)

 

Gala Bags will be on sale in the field next to the Tea Tent. This year our tea tent is being organised by The Tower Kitchen and there will be lots of things to buy there as well as food trucks around the park.

 

As Tranent Gala is all about bringing the family together there is a selection of free activities. These include Bairnz Disco, Face painting and Characters all at the Free Marquee beside the Tea Tent.
